Clark College Student Athlete of the Month Program 2006-2007 Clark College Student Athlete of the Month Program 2006-2007

The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark's student athletes. Two recipients are selected each month by a committee that includes Clark College coaches, athletic department personnel, fellow students, and members of the community.



Student Athletes for the Month of September 2006

Danielle Kent

Freshman, Volleyball

Danielle Kent, a freshman volleyball player who came to Clark College from Reynolds High School, is the setter for the Penguin volleyball team and is averaging 10 set assists and two ace serves per game. Her serving percentage for the season is an outstanding 98%. Coaches report that, as a first quarter freshman, Danielle Kent is doing well in her classes as she works toward a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Davor Lukic

Sophomore, Soccer

Davor Lukic is a sophomore co-captain of Clark College men's soccer team. He is currently tied for fifth in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) in scoring with nine goals on the season. He is an impressive second in the NWAACC in assists with eight. Davor Lukic attended Beaverton High School and is pursuing an associate's degree at Clark College. Lukic, who has a cumulative 3.03 GPA, hopes to transfer to a four-year school to continue his education and continue to play soccer.

Student Athletes for the Month of October 2006

Danielle Hutchison

Freshman, Cross Country

Danielle was the 4A district champion from a year ago and is having a sensational year for Clark College Women's Cross Country. She has consistently been our number one runner and is in the top-5 in our conference. Her personal record this year was 18:58 in a 5k at the Willamette Invitational on September 30th. Not only has she entered into the top-10 in school history as a freshman, but she has brought her teammates with her. From day one Danielle has had a bull's-eye on her back, but her toughness and resilience has kept her in the front. Danielle is pursuing her AA degree her at Clark College and hopes to transfer and continue her running career at a four-year school. She is a freshman and is doing very well in her classes.

Whit Parker

Sophomore, Soccer

Whit is one of the top goal keepers in the NWAACC. He is currently ranked third in the NWAACC with six shut outs, and has a record of 30-2-3 in a Clark uniform. His outstanding play in goal has elevated the play of his team and they are the Southern Region Champions for the 2006 season. Whit looks to continue his outstanding play as the Penguins head into the playoffs. Whit is finishing his AA degree at Clark and would like to transfer to a four-year college or university.
