About Us
One of Clark College’s promises is to provide a margin of excellence for students, employers and the community. However, with state funding declining and tuition on the rise, that promise is being challenged.
The state of Washington once provided 62 percent of the college's total operating budget. Today it is 42 percent and is expected to drop below 40 percent. Instead of being state supported, Clark is now state assisted.
In the past three years, students have experienced tuition increases from 7 percent to 12 percent. We see more and more students taking out loans—a 38 percent increase in 2011-2012—going from $16.5 million to $22.8 million.
All of these circumstances will have long-term consequences, not only for our students but for our regional economy.
There is a solution. Through community philanthropy, we can provide the support students require to succeed at Clark and in their careers.
Clark College Foundation was established in 1973 as the fundraising partner of Clark College. With financial gifts from you, the foundation provides the college with student scholarships, program and infrastructure support and community resources.
More than $600,000 in scholarships is awarded annually to 400 students. Each quarter, 16,000 full-time and part-time students attend classes at Clark's main campus located in Vancouver’s historic Central Park; or West Coast Bank in the heart of downtown; or Clark College at Columbia Tech Center in eastern Clark County; or Clark College at Washington State University Vancouver.
Help us keep our promise.
