About the Event
The 7th Annual K-Rod 10KRun/5K Run & Walk began as the Kalani Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship Run to bring awareness to cancer while benefiting student-athlete scholarships at Clark College. Kalani lived his life celebrating health and fitness, yet after his 13-month struggle against brain cancer, Kalani succumbed at the young and promising age of 21. Kalani was a 4.0 student and an award-winning track star at Clark College.
Please join us - running or walking - in this fast, scenic course leading runners through downtown Vancouver, along the Columbia River, through the Vancouver National Historic Site and around Clark College campus. This annual memorial to Kalani raises funds for the endowed scholarship in his name, which provides scholarships for athletes attending Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, and more importantly, raises awareness of the importance that education plays in ending cancer through research.
Pre-registered runners and walkers are invited to a post-event luau (while food lasts). The luau includes food and beverages donated by generous community partners with support from the Penguin Athletic Club.
