Clark College honors the inaugural inductees of its Athletic Hall of Fame
There was a lot of penguin pride going on in the Penguin Union Building during the first induction ceremony for the Clark College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Karen "Remy" Morgan Hill, Jacob "Vern" Kindsfather, Randy Myers, Claude "Skeet" O'Connell, Jim Raines, Gaydena Thompson, Mary Lou White and the college's undefeated 1992-1993 women's basketball team were honored during the February event.
Kindsfather and White were honored posthumously. Family members accepted on behalf of Karen Hill, who lives in Arizona, and Skeet O'Connell who received his award at his home earlier in the week.
Coaches, players and staff from throughout Clark history joined members of today's college community at the celebration. Members of the Clark women's and men's basketball teams and their coaches were in attendance to shake the hands of their predecessors.
As one speaker noted, the most important value for Clark student athletes is to always "bring pride to yourself, your teammates, your coaches and your college."
