New board director joins the foundation

Eric Merrill,  vice president of governmental affairs for Waste Connections Inc., has joined  Clark College Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Eric Merrill, vice president of governmental affairs for Waste Connections Inc., has joined Clark College Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Eric Merrill  has joined Clark College Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Merrill, vice president of governmental affairs for Waste Connections Inc. in Vancouver, Wash., brings decades of experience in business to the 18-member Clark College Foundation board. In his current role at Waste Connections, Merrill is responsible for strategic community partnerships for the Western region. He has also served as regional vice president for the Eastern region and in various executive positions for the Pacific Northwest division, as well as roles in sales and marketing and facility permitting, design and construction.

He and his family first moved to Oregon in 1972 and their careers have taken them to Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Central America, Texas, Tennessee and Alaska. Merrill and his wife, Jeanne Caswell, have three grown daughters, as well as grandchildren. Merrill has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oregon.
