Gibert one of top fundraising leaders in U.S.
CASE’s National Commonfund Award for Leadership recipient
Lisa Gibert, chief executive officer at Clark College Foundation, is one of the top fundraising leaders in the country according to the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She is the 2018 recipient of CASE’s National Commonfund Award for Leadership in Institutionally Related Foundations, which are nonprofit, 501(c)3 foundations dedicated to supporting an institution. This is one of the fundraising industry’s most prestigious national honors.
The selection committee cited Gibert’s remarkable 20-year career supporting advancement work at community colleges and higher educational institutions across the country. Her committee work with CASE, published papers and volunteerism promoting philanthropy set the bar.
“The CASE Commonfund Award recognizes individuals who have made great strides in the development and quality of their foundations and who have provided significant service to the community of institutionally related foundations. Please accept my immense thanks for all you do for CASE, our profession and the field of institutionally related foundations,” said Sue Cunningham, president and CEO of CASE.
The committee was distinctly impressed with the magnitude of the growth she has overseen at Clark College Foundation. Under Gibert’s leadership, the foundation topped $100 million in managed assets in 2018, a highly unique milestone at the community college level.
Gibert will receive the accolade at an April International CASE Conference in Miami, Fla. She will be joined by Tiffani Shaw, executive vice president and COO, Center for Advancement at University of Iowa, who is the Common Fund recipient representing outstanding leadership for four-year colleges and universities.
