Matt Duke, Clark student“You are providing help to those who are trying to help themselves.”

~ Matt, Emergency Grant recipient

YOU can be the catalyst of the possible for Clark students.

The Clark College community provides thousands of hours each year to ensure our students are prepared to fly. They also contribute tens of thousands of dollars for scholarships, program support, technology and equipment.

This year, a $10,000 challenge gift will be unlocked when 230 Clark College faculty and staff contribute.

230 individual gifts = $10,000 extra for students!

What does the challenge gift support?

The Emergency Grant program provides funding for students facing extraordinary circumstances that could negatively impact their ability to continue pursuing their education. To qualify, students must meet a GPA requirement, complete a spending plan and meet with a Clark College financial literacy coach to make a future spending plan.

Matt was one of the recipients of an Emergency Grant. “If I had not heard about or received the Emergency Grant I don’t think I would have made it through fall quarter. The extra support allowed me to continue my everyday life and afford my child care and transportation, so I can get a good career and provide a great life for my family.”

Matt, a single father of two, faced a difficult decision last fall: pay for child care and car insurance or take courses to finish his associate degree in Machining. Financial aid had come in less than it had in previous terms, so the prospect of continuing his education was uncertain. Matt then learned about Emergency Grants that are available at Clark College.

By unlocking the $10,000 challenge gift, the Emergency Grant program will be able to help more students like Matt, whose education is threatened by unforeseen circumstances.

Make a gift to support Clark students and unlock a $10,000 to help Penguins FLY.
