International students enjoy strong support at Clark, as well as field trips to local attractions like the Vista House in the Columbia Gorge.

Providing international students with a comprehensive package of support services is a top goal at Clark, so news of a new Intensive English Language Program (IELP) that goes beyond just teaching English was welcomed.

The program, which was launched at the beginning of the fall quarter, replaces the college’s former English as a Non-Native Language program, which focused solely on the upper levels of pre-college English. The IELP offers intensive English-language instruction, but broadens the curriculum to also include lessons about American culture and U.S. educational expectations.
