Local pediatrician, Devon Ebbing, is new board member

Clark College Foundation welcomed a new member to its board of directors in June 2021. Devon Ebbing, M.D., is a pediatrician with The Vancouver Clinic, a post she has held since 2006, and a supervising physician for the Washington State School for the Deaf since 2015.

She was the medical director for the Reach Out and Read program at The Vancouver Clinic from 2007-2015. This national program encourages physicians to hand out age-appropriate books to young children during child wellness appointments. The program fosters the positive benefits of reading while helping to connect children and parents, emotionally and physically. Ebbing raised funds, applied for grants and worked with publishers to buy books in bulk.

Ebbing earned a medical degree with honors in 2002 from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Virginia Pediatric Residency in Charlottesville, Va. She is also a graduate of DePauw University, where she studied English composition and biology.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Women’s Association and American Medical Association. Ebbing is married to James Ebbing, a psychiatrist with Kaiser Permanente. They have three teenage children.
